Campaign
By default the characters belong to an event - so if you create multiple events, each will have their set of characters.
To instead share them, activate the Campaign feature.
In the Event panel, there will be a new field:
Here you can select a Parent event. The characters in the new event will be the same of the Parent, and any update will be shared. By creating a single starting event, and the following indicating the first as parent, you can effectively create a campaign, where all the characters are shared between the events.
Player editor
With this feature, characters can be created and edited by the players. To use it, first activate the "Player editor" feature.
In the Configuration panel, two options will be available:
The first option, Maximum Number, will indicate the maximum number of characters the player can create:
- If the number is 0, the player cannot create characters - but can edit the characters created by the staff and assigned to them.
- If the number is higher, and they are signed up to the event, and currently have a number of characters less than the value, they will be prompted to create a new character:
When a player access their assigned character page, they will have a button "Change" to edit it:
Note: When a character is created by the player, it is automatically assigned to them in that event.
Note: If the Campaign is also active, and the player created a character in the parent event, and they sign up to the new event, the character will be as well automatically assigned.
The second option, Approval, adds a new field to the character:
With four possible values:
- Creation, the character has been created;
- Proposed, the player has submitted the character for approval to the staff;
- Review, the staff has requested changes to the player.
- Approved, the character has been approved by the staff;
On the player's character form, only if the character is in status Creation, there will be this check:
If checked, the character will be saved and moved to Proposed; if not, it stays in Creation.
Note: the character will be shown in the gallery only if it is in stage Approved.
Note: you can configure a custom text that will be sent to the player of the character when the stage is changed by the staff in the Texts panel, choosing the type of the text.
If the approval has been selected, and the Character form is also active, a new field will be added to character questions:
The corresponding character question will be editable by players only if the character is in one of the selected stages (if none is selected, the question will be always editable).
Experience Points
To handle experience points (commonly known as XP o PX) and the ability the characters can obtain, activate the "Experience points" feature.
In the Configuration panel, two options will be available:
If "Player selection" is checked, players will find on their character page a button to obtain new abilities (provided they have the required XP and pre-requisites).
First define the type of abilities in the Ability type panel, and click on "Add" to input a new type of ability:
